Marine Tours proudly supported as sponsor this year’s Slide2Open Shipping Finance Conference, taking place in Athens (and all around the World via live streaming), on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 February 2022.
During the last years, the conference has become a traditional meeting point for representatives from both local and international shipping industry. Key stakeholders from shipping and finance industries, as well as representatives of the State and regulatory authorities confirmed their presence.
Furthermore, Mr Konstantinos Oikonomou, CEO of Marine Tours, participated in the panel “The Delicate Balance between Emission Reduction and trade Growth – Challenges & Expectations”, providing his valuable insights on how a travel management company can support the shipping companies in achieving their Sustainability Objectives (ESG criteria & sustainability targets) through their travel program.
Among others, Mr. Oikonomou stated: “A new era is coming: The whole environmental approach is a mindset and should be part of the corporate culture. I am sure that the Greek shipping community, once again, will be pioneer on that. Shipping companies have heavy operations and costs as regards to travel, and we believe that there are actions to be taken that can support them in order to make sustainable decisions.”
